This month, we’re reminded of our nation’s history, Disability Independence Day (which commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act) on July 26 and the profound importance of independence in all its forms. At Catalight, we reflect on the strides our community has made toward fostering independence for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
For those in our care, achieving greater wellbeing marks a significant milestone toward personal freedom. Through our innovative approaches and dedicated support, we empower individuals to navigate their lives with confidence and choice. We also understand the challenges families face. Giving options in treatment, like parent-mediated care, offers greater flexibility and reduced stress while empowering families by equipping them with the tools and support necessary to nurture their loved ones.
In honoring the principles of self-determination, individuality and dignity this month, let’s celebrate the independence achieved by every individual and family within the Catalight community. We continue in our goal of carving a path toward a brighter future where every person can thrive.
Catalight Launches a Podcast:
“What’s Up With Catalight!” is Now Live
With two episodes out now, the new podcast delves into the world of autism and other developmental disabilities, offering listeners an insider’s perspective on person-centered care, innovative treatment options and the transformative work being done at Catalight and by many others in the industry. Episodes feature in-depth conversations with experts, caregivers and individuals who are at the forefront of advancing care and research.
Autism Treatment Should be Guided by Recent Research Reflecting the Expansion of the Diagnoses
Catalight’s Chief Health Officer Tracy Gayeski, Psy.D, MBA, wrote an op-ed for Autism Spectrum News asking why the industry continues to rely on outdated studies when the collective understanding of autism has evolved so much since the 1980s and new research is showing that there is not a dosage effect with treatment.
Delivering Value Through Differential Diagnosis
Catalight’s latest white paper examines how to make differential diagnosis work at scale and improve outcomes while offering steps for providers and payers to support change. Treatments can no longer be a one-size-fits-all approach. Care must be personalized in order to help create better wellbeing for clients and their families.
